Hampshire Scouts Marvellous European Road Trip 2023

We are once again running a major International expedition as an alternative to the World Scout Jamboree in 2023.

*****We have one spaces for a Leader ******

***** We have a few spaces for young people ******

Project 23 follows on from the very successful Project 19 Expedition to the USA for the last World Scout Jamboree cycle. Below is a video of the Project 19 expedition from 2019.

What is Project 23?

Project 23 will be a three week expedition in the Summer 2023 School Holidays, to travel through Europe by coach, stopping at three Scout campsite in Austria, Czech Republic and Germany to undertake scouting type activities, meeting Scouts from other countries, sightseeing, other adventurous activities that we can find, and some pure fun activities. It should be an amazing 3 weeks.

The expedition is based on 4 coaches, each with 57 passengers. This means we are taking around 195 participants and 33 leaders, plus 4 core team leaders.

We have split everybody into 6 teams of 38. Each team is named after a Marvel character, so we have teams such as Loki, Starlord and Black Panther.

It is run as a sister expedition to the Hampshire Scouts World Scout Jamboree units, so it is away for roughly the same three week period.

The Project 23 Grant fund is managed by the Hampshire Scouts Grant Committee, completely separate from the Project 23 Management Team. Applying for a grant has no impact on your application for a place on Project 23.

Grants are available for up to 50% of the cost for participants and leaders.

More details on how to apply for a grant will be sent after applications have been received.

Most Groups and Districts also make grants to those attending International Expeditions. Please ask your leaders who you should contact to find out further information on the policies for your Group / District.
